CUTANEOUS NERVES, SUPERFICIAL VEINS, AND LYMPHATICS CUTANEOUS NERVES Lateral femoral cutaneous nerve • Arises from the lumbar plexus (L2-L3), emerges from the lateral border of the psoas major, crosses the iliacus, and passes under the inguinal ligament near the anterior-superior iliac spine. • Innervates the skin on the anterior and lateral aspects of the thigh as far as the knee.
